Lamai Beach
Lamai Beach is located on the eastern side of the island of Koh Samui, which itself is on the east of the mainland of Thailand.
The closest city to is the mainland city of Surat Thani, one of the major cities of southern Thailand.
Lamai is the name of the town but as it has grown into a tourist destination around the beach the term "Lamai Beach" has come to be used for the whole area, though the district it is located within is properly known as Maret.
Dining opportunities abound at Lamai Beach, with everything from beach side open air restaurants where you dine with your feet in the sand, to up market European eateries with white table cloth fine dining. And of course everything in between.
